As a wellness chef, I’ve always been passionate about creating food that heals. Eating food that serves and heals the body's nervous system, cells, and more are essential for our well-being.
Food creates energy; when you meet another soul, their energy speaks louder than their words and actions. I often get asked why I choose the laborious job of cooking and serving, especially when I could earn more money running my day job—helping people find peace through difficult relationships and marriages. Yes, I am a holistic relationship and divorce coach and a holistic therapist. I have two therapy rooms in my home in Silsoe: one for talking, meditation, and healing, and the other for bodywork.
For over fourteen years, I have been dedicated to therapy work. Before that, I taught baby yoga and baby massage to new parents. My food business came with experience, passion, and the need I felt the world around me had. Unhealthy food makes most people happy because it's quick, easily sourced, and often considered tasty and cheap. Many are too busy to learn or create healthy meals, preferring anything that satisfies hunger.
However, the most crucial element in our lives is the medicine that comes from food, creating everything we are. Food is the being. Food is you. What you eat reflects your behavior, success, and happiness. Success isn’t just about how much money one makes. True success is waking up happy and alert, digesting well, feeling supported in your body, having clarity and mindfulness, and experiencing restful sleep to repair the body. It’s about having time for yourself and your loved ones.
When I think back to grannies and mothers who cooked simple, delicious meals with fresh farm-to-table ingredients, I see them as lucky and privileged. They used natural methods and avoided processed foods. While we may not have the same time and resources today, we can still be mindful of bringing the best to our gut. Our gut holds life, and this life is precious. Be thoughtful about how and what you bring to it.
